  Random Post 2: Thrifting By Daniel Leung   I have recently really been getting into thrifting. With the Rose Bowl Flea market- a large flea market that occurs on the second Sunday of every month- coming up, I decided to talk a bit more about why I love thrifting so much.  First, thrifting provides access to items you might not see in traditional retail stores. Often times through thrifting you can get interesting or vintage items that are near impossible to find with brand-new items in traditional retail stores. The other day I was able to find a vintage USC jacket that I have never seen before in my life. Also, sometimes you can find items that were customized by the previous owner.   Daniel Leung  Book 2 Post 2: Resilient: How to Grow an Unshakable Core Why I Read It  I read this book because I wanted to gain better control over my life by increasing my willpower and mental resilience. I feel that sometimes I can be pretty lazy and succumb to distractions. I also sometimes easily end up agreeing with other people. I wanted to learn how to become better at achieving my goals and sticking to the things I want. Even when things get difficult, I read this book to learn how to come out of obstacles with continued resolve. Given that it was written by a psychologist and Senior Fellow at Berkeley, I knew that the author had credibility. Daniel Leung  Book 2 Post 1: Resilient: How to Grow an Unshakable Core What Drew Me To The Book  The book I chose to read for book 2 is Resilient: How to Grow an Unshakable Core. I chose to read this book because I am trying to figure out how to be happier, have more mental energy, and how to create stronger willpower. I also find that I sometimes get stressed out easily, so learning to be calmer is really important for me. I was drawn to this book because it was the only book option that was listed in Book 2 which was a self-help book. Right now, I am looking to read things that I can directly apply to my life and I am hoping that this book will help. The book has a lot of reviews on Amazon and Goodreads, and looking at these reviews increased my interest in the book. For the most part, readers seem to like this book and give it 4-5 stars.
