Why Taco Stands And Trucks Are Awesome By Daniel Leung  Taco stands around USC, such as Tacos Tamix and Taco Zone, are awesome. This may sound a little crazy, but I am a huge fan of them. These taco places are cheap, very accessible, and can help provide great memories. I cannot look back at my time at USC and imagine a great experience without good from these local joints. For those uninitiated, I will explain my love for these cheap taco spots around USC. It is no surprise that they are beloved by everyone from Trojan students to nearby neighborhood residents and their families!  Whenever you're hungry or need a pick-me-up, Tacos Tamix and Taco Zone are only one “Shryft” (a free USC-sponsored shared Lyft) ride away. With prices coming in at $2 per taco and no tax when you pay with cash, it’s hard to say no to a meal at these places. These joints are very affordable which is great when you are a college student on a tight budget. Also, the food tastes really good for the comp...

Book 1 Post 2

Daniel Leung  Book: My Life on the Road  Why I Read It  I was drawn to this book because of the exciting idea of living on the road. Being free and having the ability to explore new places, people, and cultures seems so fascinating. It’s completely different from the stationary life that I live and as a result, it excites me. I hope to one day go on a road trip or go backpacking, and I wondered if I could take some inspiration from this book. The second reason I was drawn to this book was the author. Gloria Steinem is a prominent figure, and I wanted to learn more about her life. What inspired her political activism? How did she become the person that she is and what events in her formative years developed her character and strengthened her resolve? This book effectively combined two great things that interested me, which made it impossible for me to say no.  What Struck Me the Most and Key Takeaways  I was struck by how personal the book became. In some portion...

Pack Your Bags- We’re Blasting Off to a Galaxy Far, Far Away A Light-Speed Exploration of Star Wars for Anyone Who Has Been Living Under A Rock By Daniel Leung If you have not seen one of the three original Star Wars movies yet, I am so sorry for your loss. Having gone this far in life without seeing some of the greatest films of all time is a true tragedy. Now, I’m not shaming you for not having seen these masterpieces, but I’m also not saying it’s 100% okay either. If you feel excluded, don’t worry- this article will change that. Today I am going to pilot you through an overview of the original movies, explore their impact on society, and explain the purpose behind writing this article. So without further ado, let's take off! The Legendary Trilogy That Made History George Lucas was the visionary that created the “original trilogy” of Star Wars films. The first one, released in 1977, is called A New Hope . The second movie in this trilogy is called The Empire Strikes Back and ...

Book 1, Post 1

What Drew Me to This Book  I was drawn to My Life on the Road by Gloria Steinem because of the author and the journey it depicts. Having a life on the road is something that has always piqued my interest. It is fascinating to meet people of different backgrounds and explore various places! I have always wanted to go on a road trip. I have never gotten the chance to yet, but I have travel abroad a few times. Traveling to Asia has been some of the most memorable experiences of my life. This book seems like it will show how Gloria Steinem became a more powerful and empathetic leader. I want to learn more about her unique journey. I desire to gain insight on how she grew the qualities that developed her into a world-class leader. I am drawn to also understanding the motivation and reasons that drove her to accomplish the feats that she did. Being able to see her formative years through her eyes would be a very engaging read. Finally, this book is about the mom of Christian Bale! I love...
